                                                            Fast Food                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               English-095-11

Your stomach rumbles while you’re in the middle of traffic. It seems as if you won’t be home for another hour, which means missing dinner with three young children in the back. As you look to your right you see that big yellow arch. You yell to the kids, “Who wants Mickey’s?” as they all scream with joy. Another dinner taken care of; the convenience of fast food appeals to consumers, and they do not mind paying a high price for it. The convenience of the fast food chains hides the fact of how it is damaging the health of Americans.
People are unaware of the ingredients used in the fast food industry. Those ingredients are not real; they encompass a lot of chemicals, and no nutrients at all. Those compounds are organ destructors which lead to health complications, obesity, and cravings as well.
For some individuals fast food is hard to give up because they crave it. It seems like for those consumers, eating fast food is the only way for them to feel satisfied. Although fast food will never feel you up. In the article” Fast food and Personal Responsibility, by Ninos P. Malek, Attorney Samuel Hirsch explains that certain food can lead you to heart diseases, diabetes, and high blood pressure.” However, two hours after a consumption of fast food, consumers find themselves, not only hungry again but craving more.
Fast food consumers are addicted to it. Unfortunately it’s convenient for them to stop by, and grab a bite to eat. It is a fast pleasure to take their family out for a cheap lunch and dinner, in one of these restaurants. These customers make the producers happy, on the contrary destroying themselves.
Most of the Americans who consume unhealthy food, end up with health complications. The FDA didn’t pay close attention to the fast food chain producers. When it comes to business manners the producers ideas count. In the next decade the fast food consumers should stand for themselves, being vigilant concerning their health and their families before it’s too late.

Fast Food Paraphrase

Fast Food Paraphrase

For many years, most of American families have been craving fast food. This society is unaware that fast food is very unhealthy. The nutrition facts they provide are not factual. It seems to me that, the F D A Department and members doesn’t pay close attention to the consumers’ health when it comes to business manners. The producers’ ideas count. As a result, most of the Americans’ family who consumes unhealthy food, lead to health complication: heart disease; diabetes; and high blood pressure. The fast food consumers should stand for themselves, by being vigilant about their health and their family. (Fast food and Personal Responsibility Ninos P. Malek. January 2003)

The convenience of fast food appeals to consumers, and they pay a high price for it. Although it is convenient, fast food is damaging the health of Americans.

I am not a fast food consumer:
·         It’s hard to give up for some people because of conveniency.
·         The fast food corporation make $ while American’s health goes down
·         People are unaware of what is used in the industry( how it doesn’t even  fill you up.

In the article, the author Paul Krugman’s point of view is very explicit about Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech which I agree with. In the third paragraph, he mentions in his quote about a new nation, that everyone should have the same shot. Unfortunately it is a tough task in term of equality, and to ban segregation. From the past into the present, this nation has made a lot of progress. The African American’s have a great part in the career trade, but the racism issue is still exist. When it comes to paychecks, many African American continue to realize how their paychecks are still on the shorter end compared to Caucasians.

More often, the Caucasian’s income is almost double the African American’s. It could simply be by coincidence but in many aspects Caucasians are favored to do higher paying positions over African American’s. I hope in the next hundred years from now, we’ll get another Martin Luther King, because the dream about America being “The new nation” started years ago and has a long way that it still needs to go. We’re still far from the purpose of that dream. It is incredible how one man’s words and acts of non violence started a revolution that lasted for long life. This has to be done.
